What My Yoga Classes Are All About

You know that feeling when you leave a yoga class and your body feels stronger, your breath deeper, and your mind just... lighter? It's that profound feeling of being more alive than you were when you entered the class. That’s the feeling I aim to create in every class I teach.

If you’re new here—hi! I’m so glad you found your way to this space. I’m a yoga teacher, a runner, and a lifelong anatomy nerd (my daughter just recently told a friend of mine that I only read books about anatomy. Cute, but not 100% true, tho, because I read a lot of different kinds of books). I believe yoga isn’t about performing poses—it’s about exploring and moving your body in a way that feels purposeful and that supports your real, everyday life.

So, what can you expect in one of my classes?

Alignment-Based & Intelligently Sequenced

I teach alignment-based Hatha yoga with a strong foundation in anatomy. Each class is thoughtfully sequenced to guide you through a journey, not just physically, but also internally. We don’t rush from pose to pose; instead, we explore how your body moves and what it needs to feel strong, mobile, and supported. There’s room to feel, adjust, and learn something about yourself in every session.

You might discover that shifting your foot just two centimeters changes everything. That’s the magic of alignment—and why I love it.

Breath, Awareness & Seasonal Wisdom

Breath is your anchor. In my classes, we use it to calm the nervous system, regulate effort, and stay present. Your breath is that hidden power that helps you stay focused and steady when you're working at your edge—and calms your mind when thoughts race or emotions feel overwhelming. It taps into your parasympathetic nervous system, shifting you from stress to balance, often without you even realizing it. I also weave in seasonal awareness inspired by Traditional Chinese Medicine principles (think: spring detox, winter stillness, summer vitality) to help you align your practice with the natural rhythms of life. It's a subtle but powerful way to feel more connected to yourself and the world around you.

Strong Hips, Resilient Spine, Calm Mind

The heart of my teaching? Supporting spinal health and creating hip mobility and stability, especially for runners, desk dwellers, and anyone who wants to feel more freedom in their back and hips. Core work? Absolutely. But always in a way that supports your lower back, not just for the sake of having sore abs the next day.

And because I know life is full, my classes include moments of real rest and nervous system balance, especially in our closing poses. Shavasana isn't an afterthought; it's a vital part of the practice. And sometimes, we ease into Shavasana with a restorative yoga pose just to give you an extra moment of rest.

Yoga for Real Life

My classes are for real people with real lives. Whether you're running marathons or chasing kids, healing from an injury or just need a moment to breathe and move, you’re welcome here. I’ll offer options, encouragement, and guidance that help you feel supported without pressure or judgment.

Some of my students tell me it’s the first time they’ve ever really understood why something feels good—or doesn’t. Others say it's the one and a half hour a week where they finally come home to themselves. And others just really enjoy having a weekly movement routine. That’s what keeps me inspired as a teacher.

Props Are Your Friends

I use a lot of props in my classes: blocks, straps, blankets, the wall, and sometimes even chairs. Not because we can’t do the poses without them, but because they help us explore the poses more intelligently and safely. Props offer support, feedback, and often a surprising amount of insight. Whether it’s finding more space, more stability, or just a more sustainable version of a pose, props are a key part of how I teach. That said, with regular practice, at some point you'll notice that you don't need some of the props in some of the poses anymore. We use them when they are needed, not just for the sake of using them. And sometimes we might go totally wild, mix things up, and explore a practice without using almost any props.

Restorative Yoga

The last class of each month—on the final Wednesday in Bellinzona and the final Friday in Thalwil—is always dedicated to restorative yoga. What started as a seasonal offering during autumn and winter has now become a year-round practice, thanks to the many requests I received. And I’m so glad I made the change, because in our modern world, rest is deeply underrated, yet it’s something we all need more of. In these classes, you can become unavailable to the world, to your to-do lists, and even to your own thoughts, and explore the depths of your body in poses that are fully supported and still.

Curious to Join?

If this sounds like the kind of yoga you’ve been looking for, I’d love to welcome you to class. You’ll find a blend of science, softness, strength, and a bit of seasonal soul. And a lovely community of like-minded people ready to move, breathe, learn, and grow together.

You can practice with me:

in Bellinzona at Centro Armonia on Wednesdays, 9:00-10:30 AM

in Thalwil at Mala Yoga on Fridays, 9:30-11:00 AM

Come as you are. Leave a little more like yourself.
